12:30 pm - ouch dang it... ultimate competition this weekend, another on monday... and yesterday I sprained my ankle in spectacular stylee, falling over myself in the middle of a road. Not to be recommened. I am hobbling, drugged up, and trying to figure whether the ibuprofen I took is making me wheeze or not.
There's a saying, if you can stand you can walk, if you can walk you can run, so get out on the pitch and start playing.
Not sure I can stand yet.

05:35 pm - stalked? Someone just came up to me in the library, and had a ten minute conversation with me, claiming to know me... transpired he's from Germany. I could swear I've never spoken to him in my life, although I did recognise him, is this what comes of smiling at people?

03:44 pm apologies my friends, and sundry others.
I'm feeling quite unwell. Worryingly, thinking about it today, I am getting worse and have been for about 3 weeks, although I'm sure its just a virus of some sort. I'm feeling really tired (cannot get out of bed, needing to lie down in the afternoon), slightly dodgy breathing, a few headaches thrown in and total brain fog. Which is mostly why I'm struggling to a) get out the house. b) get any work done, c) answer emails/texts.
sorry, I have got to start getting better soon.

08:41 pm
I am back, well sort of. I've had a good bit of time off this last week, gaining a bit of perspective and seeing friends. I'm heading back to Durham tomorrow to start work on my thesis, hoping I can locate a good dollop of motivation before then!
I've had a few days up in the scottish highlands, managed to climb a munro in the crazy cloud cover, which left me totally disorientated at the summit on tuesday, and climb another in gorgeous sunshine on the thursday, here is a pic of the first munro, broad cairn, from the second.

It was quite a walk up there, not least because my walking boots disintegrated on the way down, leaving me with about 7 miles to hobble back to the car... I live and learn!

I saw this abandoned cottage too, with the daffodils flowering crazily at the front. Amazing really, a home abandoned, leaving a garden in the middle of a field! Most years the sheep or cows get to the flowers, but this year the field is fallow, letting the daffodils have free reign. Or perhaps producing a surreal combination of (un)habitation

01:19 pm - getting there So, I just handed in 18,000 words. 2/3 my degree.
And I'm fleeing to the scottish hills to celebrate...
I promise, I will blog at somepoint in the future.... unless I choose never to return to the world of deadlines, word counts and oh-so-ridiculous footnote formatting.

05:22 pm - looking good? I am feeling deceptively cool, sitting outside palace green library, looking at the cathedral and buying train tickets wirelessly on my macbook.
